BASF/ Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship Fund
BASF/Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 to honor the life of a former BASF employee, Alfred L. Chisholm, who served as a leader in his community, and who was instrumental in raising thousands of dollars to assist students pursuing a college degree. In memory of Mr. Chisholm and with the support of BASF Corporation’s African American Employee Group (AAEG), two students will receive each $3,000 one time non-renewable scholarship, to assist in furthering their college education for the 2010-11 academic year. The scholarship is available to undergraduate students who enroll at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and who must have relatives employed by BASF Corporation. Applicants meeting all the criteria will be forwarded to the BASF Corporation African American Employee Group, Al Chisholm Scholarship Committee for final selection. In addition, for scholarship award consideration, the following application materials are required and must be uploaded to the online application by the application deadline: 1.Two letters of recommendation: one from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s academic abilities and another from a civic or community leader. 2. Imagine America Adult Students Scholarships
Tuition assistance and college scholarship opportunities for adult students enrolling at career colleges is now available through the Imagine America Foundation! The current Imagine America Online Award Program has become the new Imagine America Adult Skills Education Program. By expanding from solely online to both online and brick-and-mortar schools, ASEP enables the Foundation and its participating colleges to assist more adult students pursuing higher education. Adult learners choosing to pursue a career education may receive a $1,000 award to attend an Imagine America participating ASEP school of their choice through our financial aid and scholarship options. All adult students must complete a student assessment provided by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). The American Academy of Underwater Sciences awards two scholarships to graduate students engaged in, or planning to begin, a research project in which diving is or will be used as a principal research tool or studying diving science. The Kevin Gurr Scholarship awards $2500.00 to a Masters program student. The Kathy Johnston Scholarship awards $2500.00 to a Ph.D. candidate. The AAUS may also award two additional $1500.00 scholarships to the next two proposals that are ranked the highest. Allman Medical Scholarships – Miss America
Dr. David B. Allman was a past president of the Miss America Pageant and the American Medical Association. In memory of her husband, Mrs. Allman, during her lifetime, established a scholarship foundation to be administered by the Miss America Organization for the grant of scholarships to Miss America Pageant contestants who wished to enter the field of medicine to become medical doctors. At her death in 1981, Mrs. Allman further funded this foundation so that young women involved in the Pageant system could take advantage of this opportunity to further or commence their education in the medical field. Since 1974, Allman Scholarships have been granted to various Miss America contestants at the National, State and Local level. DAR National Society Scholarship
The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including history, law, nursing, and education.
