ALERT: Two weeks left to apply for the Sacramento Press Club Scholarship

We could not be more proud to announce that once again, we have increased the number of scholarships we are now offering to your journalism students.  This year we will award $17,500 in scholarships to students who are preparing for a career in journalism or a closely related field.   The five scholarships range in value from $2,500 to $6,000, and we know that in this economy financial assistance can be especially crucial.   We need your help to get the word out in time for this year’s application period.    We have shifted our timing to accommodate the academic calendar, at the request of some of you.  The application period now runs through the end of March. The basic qualifications are that students have to be juniors, seniors or graduate students in the 2010/2011 academic year, with a connection to the greater Sacramento region.   There are a number of ways they can establish that geographical connection — they don’t have to currently live in the region. The Sacramento Press Club has a long history of assisting students with college scholarships — since 1974 we have helped dozens of students reach their dreams.    All of this scholarship money was raised by journalists and other professionals in related fields.
